The ways it was the way it has been

I can only state how it was not how it will be. I had only thought that it should be this way .
Now I look back and see that is the way it always was.
We say we will fight for what is right but will we?
Will you?
It comes down to it what is right is only in your own mind.
But would you fight and forced to perhaps kill for what you belive is right?
To kill is not right but if forced to would you
what would force you to kill for what is right?
It is how it is it is how it will always be.
War from within and war from without, man will always belive in what is right is worth
fighting for and killing for.
This is not to say it is for us all to stand up and fight. The fight may be within and not
expressed with force.
It is how it was it is how it will be it is how we live to be free.

Growing up in the 50's and maturing in the 60's I saw a lot that makes me think.
It was how it was and you should go into the service when you are 18.
So I did proudly enlist and go where I was ordered to.
They said go forth and kill the yellow man for he is evil and wants to take away freedom of his
brothers. So we went to help his brothers stand up for their freedom.
I saw the Viet man fight next to you in day and kill you at night.
Whose freedom did we fight for?
I killed as told and saw my fellow man die at my hands for the name of freedom.
I come home to be free at home. I find my love had left me for another,
my home was changed and so had I.
Anger consumed my being and I hated what I had done and felt lost for years.
Placed all that in a place in my mind to hide from my being. Never again to be set free.
But even hatred wants to be free.
Sept. 11 set it free again. But who to hate. Who to hate when you did not know who did
the deed?
A result of many errors and greed set the wheels to turning and what can you do?
Help me lord oh what have we done. I can not fight any longer for peace or for war.
I can only say that you look on what has been done to our fellow man be it right or wrong.
And it can only be summed up as always.
It is the way it was and is as it always been it shall always be as it is.
We will always hate what we do not understand because we do not want to understand
We will always kill because we will destroy what we can not change to the way we will understand.
As it is it will always be.
